Kindred Crossings is a local, family farm dedicated to the production of healthy, naturally raised livestock that you can place in your pastures or on your dinner table with trust.

History
Kindred Crossings is a family farm located on the borders of the historic towns of Lebanon and North Franklin in southeastern Connecticut. Our farm began as a dairy operation in 1912. Five generations later, it has evolved to include beef, lamb, and pork production. We are strongly committed to sustainable agriculture, and the active production of heritage livestock. We firmly believe in our role as stewards of the land.

Why Heritage Breeds
Holding to our roots, we opted to raise several breeds of Heritage livestock. Heritage breeds include a variety of animals with unique genetic traits, often underutilized in current commercial operations. We have found them to be extremely durable and more economical than the more modern breed selections. The breeds we selected have proven themselves to be muscular, feed efficient, docile, intelligent, and productive.
Heritage breeds produce meat with a robust, natural flavor that clearly surpasses meat produced in commercial settings. We raise our animlas as naturally as possible, allowing them to roam on pastures in the open air and sunshine. Livestock eat only fresh grass, dry hay, grass balage, clean water, and a grain blend that is free of growth hormones, antibitoics, and animal by-products. We prefer to use natural rememdies when an animal needs medical attention, and will only use chemical treatment as a last resort.
